“While it’s tempting to want to make use of interactive technologies, the most important points to bear in mind are to select the most relevant form of visual representation for your website, and to consider your users at all times.”

Animated elements can be used to create visual interest, or to direct the viewer's attention to a specific area of your site. Animations can contain text, graphics, or both.

Do bear in mind, though, that search engines only index text, and for users of text–based browsers, your animation will be inaccessible. Back it up with a text alternative wherever possible.

Flash can be employed to display portfolios or photograph albums in a creative and economic manner — to the artist or photographer, the benefits are obvious.

Below is a small selection of animations that we have created.

Ceibo Music »
Flash was used to showcase this singer/songwriter’s work.

WhiteningQuick »
A sophisticated introduction to this tooth whitening website aimed at the modelling and cosmetic surgery markets.

Ronnie Israel »
A small showreel was created for the home page of this environmental photographer’s website to give visitors a flavour of his work.

3rd Man»

The Digital Lighthouse »
We used Flash to present this commercial photographer’s extensive portfolio of work.
