“Doctors are not computer experts, and
working with InWeb Designs has been very easy and has achieved exactly
what we wanted.
As the Web Officer asked to redesign the site, I found the process
to be enjoyable, educational and efficient.”

the client
The World Federation of Societies of Anaesthesiologists (WFSA) is a global organisation with an extensive resource/information-based website.
the brief
Many of the WFSA's users live in developing countries, therefore quick loading pages and a user-centred interface are vital if the WFSA is to provide an accessible and inclusive information service.
The existing information architecture and interface were confusing and out of date. The newly elected WFSA Web Officer wanted to refine and clarify the information structure.
the response
Since much of the information given on the website changes regularly, we recommended that rather than using an outside party to conduct these updates, a bespoke content management system was the best long term solution for the Federation.
Working closely with the Web Officer, we redesigned the user interface and engineered a system that allows the WFSA to create and edit new pages with a high degree of sophistication within a user-centred admin panel. The site has a password protected database of member details, as well as forums and surveys.
the functionality
Admin can define whether pages appear in the top or bottom navigational bars, whether text appears in the left or right columns, or across the entire page.
Elements such as the amount of line breaks between visual or textual elements, the font size, weight and colour of text, and whether elements are positioned left, right, centred or justified within a column are additional functionalities.
Links can be created that link to other pages, external websites or to downloadable documents. Links can be text or images.
Admin can add/modify/delete details within the password–protected members database.
Moderated forums and member surveys were created for registered members.
A site map and text version of all pages are automatically created. The latter becomes extremely useful to users with slow modems, and users who switch off their browser graphics capability.
A downloadable PDF tutorial for stakeholders updating the website was included, together with an online tutorial and FAQs section.
